We have a few interesting events coming up.   We will be putting on a FREE show at the Star Bar on May 16th with Asheville’s Asian Teacher Factory and new Atlanta band DAMS (members of Fine Peduncle, Jack of Hearts, Odist and Lotus Quadrant).    The show starts at 9:30 and it costs NOTHING!  There are some write-ups below about these two amazing bands. We are also happy to announce that we will be performing at 500 Songs for Kids again this year.  This is always an amazing event supporting an even more amazing cause. We encourage everyone to come out and donate if they can.  We are performing a Radiohead song this time and we’ll be doing it at The Earl this Saturday May 4th.  The time slot has not been completely confirmed yet but it will be later that evening.   Some of the other acts include Today the Moon, Tomorrow the Sun, Little Tybee, Noot d’ Noot and many more.  The event page lives here

DAMS began when the world was supposed to end.

Sarah Wilson (drummer of Jack of Hearts / Odist), vocalist Cole Murphy (Fine Peduncle), Bret Phillips and David Carter (bass and guitar of Lotus Quadrant) started the post-apocalyptic project in December 2012. The group set to work creating an incredibly unique sound.

They have spent countless hours in the studio, composing high velocity vicious grooves with piercing neo soul for a world that evaded cataclysm.

Our friends Fishhawk will be going on tour with Big Boi and Killer Mike starting this month and they have invited us and Gun Party to play at their CD release / Tour kick off show at the legendary Stankonia Studios.  This show is happening tonight April 13th and we would love for you to come celebrate with us!

We hope 2013 is treating you well so far.  We have a handful of shows coming up including an Atlanta show at 529 on March 1st where we will be sharing the stage with a couple of amazing groups.   The lineup includes our friends Brain from Atlanta and England in 1819 from Baton Rouge.  England in 1819 are currently on tour with our friends The Winter Sounds.  If you have the opportunity to catch any of those shows PLEASE do.

Hello friends.   First, we’d like to thank everyone who came out to our Halloween show at the Earl with Stokeswood and Gun Party.  It was a sold out show.  Gun Party carried a casket on stage with Abbey in it, Bret Philips joined us onstage to perform Deloused in the Comatorium from Mars Volta and Stokeswood performed the entire Stop Making Sense from Talking Heads.  It was quite a night and if you missed it there are some fantastic videos on the youtube as well as some photos taken by Pan Tau .  We’ll have some links below for you.

We also wanted to share with you a new film project of ours called GO SOFTLY.   We are releasing the film in many pieces and out of order.  It will feature music from the upcoming Jungol album as well as music from Dark Room and our other solo projects.  Check out the page for it. http://jungol.net/gosoftly/

We do have some shows coming up.  Next week we have a two show run with our buds The Winter Sounds Nov. 16th and 17th .  We will be celebrating their album release with a show in Greenville SC and Columbus GA.  In Greenville we’ll be performing a Jungol set as well as an entire 80’s Prom set with the The Winter Sounds.  Fun!

It’s been an eventful summer and it looks like the fall will be just the same.  This Friday September 15th we will be in Atlanta playing at the Nigredo House Show with Absence of Ocean, Nigredo and Special Olympiad.  The doors open at 8pm and there will be a $5 donation to get a cup for the keg.  Event link is here: HOUSE SHOW

The Stokeswood & Jungol Halloween tradition continues this year at the Earl with our buds Gun Party.   Stokeswood will be performing Talking Heads’ “Stop Making Sense” concert in its entirety and we’ll also have something special for your eyes and ears.  This show will be happening on Halloween night at the Earl.  Event link is here:  HALLOWEEN

We are also excited to be joining our friends The Winter Sounds again for some shows before the year is over.  November 16th we will be joining them at the Handlebar in Greenville SC for the release of their new album RUNNER.  You can expect an ‘80’s prom situation.

This show will not only showcase a bulk of brand new Jungol material but we will also be introducing a new man behind the drum kit.  His name is Mark Garretson and we are excited for you to meet him.  Our long-time drummer and friend Jason Monseur has moved on to focus on other projects outside of Jungol.  Jason’s drumming has been an integral part of the Jungol sound for nearly a decade.  We have much love and gratitude for Jason as a musician and a friend.  You can certainly expect to see us together on stage at some point in the future.

On Thursday, July 12th tune into Davefm to hear a live interview with us and Music Director, Margot.  The interview will start around 8/8:30pm.

And this Sunday, July 8 we will perform and be interviewed on 99x.  We will have more info on the time soon.

You can also expect to see us getting back to our normal touring schedule this fall.  We are extremely excited to be getting back out and sharing this new music.  Thank you for your constant support and interest in the things we make.  And please keep your eyes and ears tuned to our website for remixes, new sounds, new sights and updates on the progress of our new album.
